Alabama Is #1... Homeless Youth Fare Worse Here Than in Any Other State
Alabama fans hope the state is #1 in football after the championship game. But the state is already #1 in another area: youth homelessness. The National Center on Family Homelessness released a report - America's Youngest Outcasts 2010 - that documents the problem and ranks states from best to worst.
Our Youth Deserve Love & Respect
Young people need to know they are loved and that they have our support.
I believe those of us who have survived into adulthood have a responsibility to support and encourage youth who are struggling with many of the same issues we faced at their age. The fact that we understand these issues based on our personal experiences makes us uniquely qualified to provide this critical support. Our society is in a state of crisis brought about by a basis lack of love and respect for each other. Simply put, all people deserve love and respect regardless of any of the circumstances our society uses to segregate us into various sub-groups.

James Robinson, founder of GLBT Advocacy & Youth Services received the Billy Jack Gaither Humanitarian Award on 2/19/2012 for his work with GLBT youth.
Civic Ventures Announces James Robinson is One of Five Winners of the First-Ever Launch Pad Contest!
The first-ever Launch Pad contest aims to help people over age 45 turn creative ideas for solving problems in their communities into working solutions. The winners, who beat out 20 other finalists from more than 1,000 submissions nationwide, will each receive $5,000, plus resources and support from the larger Encore community.

Huntsville Host Home Program (HHHP)
The Huntsville Host Home Program (HHHP) is about to get underway! The program and the people behind it share a deep commitment to our communities, our youth and social change — not just through the sharing of resources, but through a transformative and intimate process of sharing our homes and our lives.
Another Village Blend Success!
Our Village Blend held on November 12 was another success!
Our first seven Village Blend events continue to be a great success with over 300 people attending from all age groups. Entertainment was provided by musicians as well as poets from throughout the local community.
